Getting from Enfield to East Croydon isn’t easy or quick (1h 21m). The initial part of the journey is the same for everyone, regardless if you intend to travel to Croydon using Thameslink service from St. Pancras, London Overground service from Highbury & Islington to West Croydon or National Rail from Victoria station. To start the journey, all passengers must take the Overground Service from Enfield Town or Bush Hill Park to Seven Sisters first and then change for the Victoria Line to Highbury & Islington, King’s Cross St. Pancras or Victoria.
In this blog post, we recommend that you use the Thameslink service to East Croydon from King’s Cross St Pancras so please do the following:
The reason for our recommendation is that the Thameslink service is as fast as the Victoria Station services and it cost you exactly the same amount of money. The difference between this and any other option is that the journey is much more special.
Since the beginning of 2018, Thameslink is running their brand new trains on the route from Bedford to Brighton via East Croydon. These trains are fast and comfortable. In addition to the excellent quality of the train stock, the journey offers fantastic views. While passing through the Blackfriars Bridge you can enjoy the panorama over the River Thames and the Tower Bridge.
Once you arrive at King’s Cross St. Pancras, walk from the Victoria Line platforms for 5 minutes to reach the Thameslink branch. The services from St. Pancras to East Croydon station depart every 15 minutes from platform A. Your train will stop only 5 times before it reaches East Croydon station.
The journey time from St. Pancras to East Croydon is between 36 and 40 min. Single Fare from Enfield Town will cost you: £8.70 and Oyster £6.90.
