The Background of the Whitgift Foundation Croydon.

The Whitgift Foundation was founded in 1596 by John Whitgift, Archbishop of Canterbury. This is a charity service based in Croydon, South London, England. John Whitgift’s mission was to provide care for the elderly people and educate young people. This foundation is governed by a Court of Governors. For over 400 years the Whitgift foundation has helped to educate younger people and care for the elderly. In addition to that, they provide scholarships in excess of £ 5 million a year. They are always looking for new ways to help people.

The main activity of Whitgift foundation is to manage three independent schools. They educate more than 3000 students in and around Croydon. The independent schools are Trinity, Whitgift and Old Palace of John Whitgift School. The students in these schools are talented, and these three schools are among the best schools in the country.

Care Homes – Whitgift Foundation Croydon

The Whitgift Foundation has 3 homes. The Whitgift Almshouses, Whitgift House and Wilhelmina House. The staff are very friendly and they are available 24/7. They know how sensitive our elders are. Full residential care, full nursing care and day care service are among the services they offer. Currently, they care for more than 100 elderly people in and around Croydon.

This service provides information, training, and advice for a person who is caring for someone who lives in Croydon. They employee more than 1000 staff in their carer’s homes. Funding their charitable activities comes from their property in and around Croydon; the Whitgift shopping centre is one of the places.
